PROFILE (03/12/11)

"Calv" is one of the original Dudley players and is now the only player to have participated in every season (both "A" and "B") since its inception in 2001. Back then he was part of a side that included Terry Jones, Lee Aziz, Jonathan Blakeman, Pete Rose, Tonia Hadley and Ernie Piller. He made his W&W first team debut in 2004 during the rotation season and played nine games in Premier 2. He spent the best part of the next four seasons in the W&W Alliance although he did play 50% of the Premier matches in 2008. In 2009 he won the W&W Alliance averages and his been a first teamer ever since. He has now formed himself a reputation as the grinder and his calm demeanor has seen him battle back many times to a 21-20 victory.

On average Calv only manages one game a week which in turn sees him play the Portland Road green once a fortnight. Nevertheless many agree that a top season is only around the corner for one of Broomfield's "youth".
