The indoor fixture for Nomads today was
cancelled. A double header will be
played against the Londonderry on Sunday
8th January 2006.
At the section
committee meeting today it was decided
that a fourth midweek side would be
fielded in 2006 and this would be in the
Dudley & District Thursday League. The
team will start in Division 7 and will
be a mix of beginners, experienced and
new players.
A date for the AGM
was set for Thursday 23rd February 2006.
To be held in the function room at
Broomfield, starting 8pm / 8:30pm.
Mark Hadley has
announced his intention to resign as
both chairman and secretary. Frank
Newman will attend any secretary
meetings from the New Year and Mark will
officially step down at the AGM.
This will probably
be the last update of the year so on
behalf of myself and the webmaster Paul
Hickman can we wish you the best for
Christmas and the New Year - we hope you
have enjoyed the information available
on the Broomfield B.C website.
11/12/05 - At
Hadley Stadium today Nomads picked up a draw
(2 points) against the Baggeridge, keeping
us in 2nd place. Ollie and Mick won the
first game 12~11 but then Chris and Jonathan
lost 5~14. Denise and Frank won the last
game 14~8 taking the total score to 31~33.
08/12/05 - The
function room at Broomfield has been booked
by Terry & Blakey for a New Years Eve party.
Everybody is welcome and please feel free to
bring along friends and family. There is a
£2 entry on the door and kids for free. Even
if you can't make it please let any other
bowlers know as we are depending on word of
mouth! People will be bringing their own
food and Karen will have a list behind the
bar of who is bringing what. We will hold a
prize raffle to try and cover the costs and
the bar will be open 8pm until late.
04/12/05 - The
Nomads beat the Baggeridge 3-1 today, best
win again by Ollie & Mick (17-8). Frank and
Denise also won (13-8) but Chris and
Jonathan lost (7-12). A 4pt win next week
would take us into the Christmas break top
of the league.
A committee meeting has been called for 18th
December at 1pm at Broomfield. Committee
members, officers and captains to attend.
